New BlogCast Entry

A new entry has just been posted to The BlogCast. The post discusses the recent discovery that the God Squad is now spreading the gospel of peace and love through the popular console game Halo. Among other interesting questions, it asks, "what better way to impart the bloody and violent legacy of Christianity-as-practiced as opposed to Christianity-as-Christlike-behavior?"

New Podcast Episode

This is the first of a two-parter: most of these segments will be further discussed in a future episode. In this episode, we continue our discussion of the unhealthy sports obsession, including parental insanity. We address the SCHIP program, vetoed by the president this morning, and discuss his ongoing war on American freedoms. Also: for whom does the FBI work? Musical selection by Apatrides.

Update - Content and Menus

We're still finalizing our homepage, and today we launched our new menu structure. Earlier, the menus were scattered and not very user friendly. The new structure should make the site easier to navigate, giving the podcast and blogs each a menu of their own. If you can't view the menus (if they appear in large, blocky lists), you should update your browser from Internet Explorer 6 - it's outdated anyway and doesn't comply with most of the rules of the web. Try Firefox 2.0. In other news, we've added a biography for our newest member, Christian, who blogs about intersections of science, media, and culture at Caspernicus. Stay tuned for a coming episode of the podcast.

Site Version 2 Rollout

Finally, we've rolled out the final version of the website, with updates to navigation (CSS menus - more accessible), and will soon release episode nine of the podcast with a more regular format. Thanks for staying with us as we've continued to update and revise the site moving toward this final release. We hope you stay with us as we continue to grow.

Updates and Coming Segments

It's been busy for the past few days, but we've posted a new entry to the blogcast http://blogcast.culture-cast.org/) that foreshadows a coming segment on the podcast. Also updated, the ''Coming Soon'' page, with a few more details from the upcoming episode, expected to be complete by midweek. I'll be updating the "Contributors" area soon, with information about recent contributors to the podcast, as well as a bio for our newest member, Caspernicus. On a final note, we expect to have a finalized version of the new website complete by the end of this month. Thanks for sticking with us as we've been doing our best to revise and update Culture-Cast.org to deliver the best content possible.

It has been a while - again, we do need contributors! On that note, we have a new member, Caspernicus, who has begun blogging about scientific intersections with media and culture.
